Graeme writes: "In my focus on children being ready for all that God wants them to do, I have enjoyed encouraging boys and girls in many aspects of ministry - and helping church leaders, children's workers and churches to honour them and learn how to partner them in the church family.
"In 1987, after 11 years of wide and varied experience in Christian work, I was 'diverted' into children's ministry when my leading of the children's work at a Christian conference coincided with the sharing of Jean Darnall's prophecy that God wants to use boys and girls in special ways in coming revival.
| "My concentration
on children grew and for several years until 1994 I
carried responsibility for developing the children's work
in Ichthus Christian Fellowship which at that time
consisted of more than 30 congregations and included
about 500 children. "I have been blessed by the many churches and groups of various denominations in the UK and some other countries who have given me the privilege of sharing with them in ministry relating to children. In September 1997, with my wife, Kate and three of our four children, I moved to live in a rented farmhouse near Inverurie in north-east Scotland. |
"While there I was involved in a variety of aspects of ministry including:- preaching at and leading family services and all-age celebrations, speaking at joint church events, doing children's programmes at conferences and camps, arranging get-togethers for children's workers, speaking at teaching and training events for children, children's workers, church leaders and churches, encouraging and partnering children in their ministry, meeting with others to pray for children and those who work with them, writing materials, and doing a regular 'Moment to Reflect' broadcast on local radio.
"At the beginning of 2003 I helped to establish the children's work in a newly planted church, St Combs Community Church, and I then became more involved in Pray for Scotland, a national prayer ministry. My work as its project coordinator took most of my working time over the next two years.
"The house we were renting was needed by its owners, so Kate and I moved to our present home in 2005. Since then I have had a quieter time of ministry than in previous years, and I have been concentrating recently on seeking to complete my writing of a commentary on Luke for children.
"Having moved on from the local church in which we were involved, we are looking for what God is calling us to do in this new season.
"As ever, I am happy to receive invitations from churches, children's workers or children to help with children's ministry.
"Some of the subjects I have taught on are:-
