Building for Jesus


1. Matthew 7v24 Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on a rock.

What led you to begin to build your house on the rock?

2. 1 Corinthians 3v10 Each one should be careful how he builds. . If any man builds on this foundation (Jesus Christ) using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is because the Day will bring it to light.

What project or work for Jesus do you know about that really impresses you?

3. Ephesians 2v22 In him (Jesus) you too are being built together with all the others to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

What times of fellowship have you found to be particularly strengthening?

4. Acts 20v32 Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Which part of the Bible comes to your mind that has been foundational for you – something you keep going back to and building your life on?

5. Colossians 2v6,7 Continue to live in him (Jesus), rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thanksgiving.

What experience that helped you to be built up in your faith are you particularly thankful for today?

6. 1 Peter 2v5 You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

7. Jude v20 But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.

What experiences of the Holy Spirit have built you up recently?

8. Hebrews 1v8,10 By faith Abraham, when called…obeyed and went, even thought he did not know where he was going…For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
