Jesus dying means that…

We are safe

I am the good shepherd, who is willing to die for the sheep. John 10v11

We are changed

When we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5v6

We are loved that much

God has shown us how much he loves us – it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us. Romans 5v8

We are made God’s friends

We were God’s enemies, but he has made us his friends through the death of his Son. Romans 5v10

We are made right with God

God did not keep back his own Son, but offered him for us all. Rom. 8v31,32

We are saved

Of the greatest importance: Christ died for our sins. 1Corinthians 15v3

We are given a new purpose

He died for all, so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but only for him who died and was raised to life for their sake. 2Cor.5v15

We are set free from the pressures around us

In order to set us free from this present evil age, Christ gave himself for our sins Galatians 1v4

We are given a new life

The life that I now live, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2v20

We are given an example to follow

Live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave his life for us as a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice that pleases God. Ephesians 5v2

We are going to be made complete

Christ loved the church and gave his life to present it in all its beauty – pure,  faultless, without spot or wrinkle or any other imperfection. Ephesians 5v25

We are servants of the Greatest

He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to his death on the cross. So God raised him to the highest place above. Philippians 2v8

We are living close to Jesus

Our Lord Jesus Christ who died for us that we might live together with him, whether we are alive or dead when he comes. 1Thessalonians 5v10

We are paid for

One who brings God and man together, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself to redeem everyone. That was the proof at the right time that God wants everyone to be saved. 1Timothy 2v5,6

We are his

He gave himself for us, to rescue us from all wickedness and to make us a pure people who belong to him alone and are eager to do good. Titus 2v14

We are his family

We see him now crowned with glory and honour because he suffered death that he might taste death for everyone, bringing many sons to glory. Heb 2v9

We are set free from the fear of death

He did this so that through his death he might destroy the Devil, who has the power over death, and in this way set free those who were slaves all their lives because of their fear of death. Hebrews 2v14,15

We are going to receive God’s promised blessings

Those who have been called by God may receive the eternal blessings that God has promised. This can be done because there has been a death which sets people free from the wrongs they did. Hebrews 9v15

We are not required to do what Jesus has done for us

Christ, however, offered one sacrifice for sins, an offering that is effective for ever, and then he sat down at the right-hand side of God. Hebrews 10v12

We are made clean

With one sacrifice, then, he has made perfect for ever those who are purified from sin. Hebrews 10v14

We are able to come very close to God

We have complete freedom to go into the Most Holy Place by means of the death of Jesus. He opened up for us a new way. Hebrews 10v19

We are safe
